Alice is a very sweet girl who was born in Kluang, Johor. She was brought up in a poor family and has 3 older brothers.
When she was young, she was always in good health. One day, while she was in school, she fell while walking down the stairs. It wasn't an accident. She just lost her feeling on her legs and fell down all of a sudden. She could not walk. All her friends were so concerned. The school called up her parents to ask them to bring her home. As soon as her parents arrived, she was brought to the doctor.
After being brought to see the doctor, they found out that she has a rare illness that the cure for it has not been found in Malaysia. The doctor suggested to do a surgery as soon as possible to see what was happening to her. Alice's parents had to pay through their noses for that surgery. The surgery took place the next day. After the surgery, they discovered that she had tumor and the doctor removed it.
The next week, she was alright and so continued going back to school again. Everyone thought that she was all better until she fell down again. This time, it was worse. She could not move, could not hear and could not see a thing.
When she went back to the hospital, the doctor did a full body check up on her and finally found that the tumor has spread to her spine and will not stop spreading. The doctor said that he could not do anything to remove the tumor at the spine because it will damage her spine for sure. All she could do was lie on bed and wait till her whole body give up on her. Everything was coming to an end for her.
After a few weeks, Alice's family received a call from a doctor in United Kingdom saying that they have found a cure for her illness but they had one big problem stopping them from accepting the operation. It was the money issue. It was too expensive for them to pay up. They had to let this golden opportunity go. The next day, they received a call again from United Kingdom and this time, the doctor said that they would do this surgery for free. They did not even have to pay for the flight tickets. As soon as Alice was told about this, she cried because she was so happy and excited to get better and live a healthy and normal life again. They immediately pack up and went straight to United Kingdom.
After the operation, she got better and could walk again but because of the tumor around her face, the left side of her face is now paralyzed. She was not a least bit sad at all and was thankful to everyone even though half of her face was paralyzed because she was able to live a normal life again. She took this as a new beginning in her life.
When she was sent back to Malaysia, she continued her studies until her masters. She is currently a very successful woman who is married to a man that loves her very much and is blessed with two children. Besides that, she earns money by giving talks to many people about her life struggles. She also tells her clients that there is always hope in life. She has also written her own book about her life.
Knowing that life is so precious, we should always treasure it.
