Am I ready for it???

How do i put this in words? Exams? NOT EXACTLY my FAVOURITE topic to talk or blog about. But still, it's part of my life process.

I was never an all 'A' student nor a student who fails all her subjects in Secondary. I guess I should be classified as the average student. The only subject that I always fail is my History. It was always my weakest subject throughout Secondary. I guess it's because History is a mugging subject. I am NO NO good in mugging. I have a friend who memorizes everything in the text book and then 'regurgitates' it back out during exams. She is like the computer where she can copy and paste everything. Isn't that creepy?

Many a time, my friends tell me that Malaysian History is a very boring subject. Even if I was studying the World History, I don't think I will be able to score. I have a few weaknesses and one of these is memory power. I'm bad in remembering to the extent that when I am asked to do something by my mother, out of 10 things, only 6 would be done. I've got scolded a million times but unfortunately it still happens. The same goes for exams I guess.

I do realize that when I write, I will be able to memorize better. This is what I've been doing the past few exams of mine until SPM. I finally scored a 'B' in my History in SPM! Partly thanks to my friends too of course.

College is a totally different thing. The subjects learnt are more useful in my life and are definitely more interesting.( hopefully none of my teachers are reading this) I think it is because I have the chance on choosing the course that I am interested in which is Mass Communication. However, the terms used in my subjects are sometimes hard to understand. Ms Karmini, my Mass Communication lecturer has been using the word 'affiliate' many a time in her class but I still do not know and understand the word.

Besides that, I wonder why do we not have maths in Mass Communication. I love maths but none of the friends I have in my course like maths. Most of them chose Mass Communication just to avoid maths.

I have here a few words of wisdom what I learnt it secondary. Hopefully it helps and makes you a better person.
  • Genius is one percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration.
  • The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little effort you put in.
  • I do the best I know, the very best I can, and I mean to keep on doing so until the end.
  • If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
  • For your memory not to rust, revision is a must.
  • Success is a journey, not a destination.
  • There are four steps to accomplishment: 1.Plan Purposefully 2.Prepare Prayerfully 3.Proceed Positively 4. Pursue Persistently
  • Be grateful for luck, but don't depend on in.
  • Failure is success if we learn from it.
  • Give the world the best you have and the best will come back to you.
  • Work joyfully and peacefully, knowing that right thoughts and right efforts will finally bring right results.
Those are all the words of wisdom I have for now. さようなら(SAYONARA)! ADIO! CIAO!

Exam Incoming!!!

Ahhhhhhhh!!!! Exams!!! I have not talked about exams for around 5 months.. I definitely DO NOT miss it. Exams are coming next week. Am i ready for it? As usual the answer would be No. To be honest, i have not started revising any of my subjects. It's already a Wednesday. My friends told me that they have not started too but who knows. My secondary school friends always tells me that they have not started revising but at the end of the day, they constantly score A's. I am most afraid of the subject called Fundamental of Management(FOM), followed by Mass Communication (IMCOMM). I'm least worried about College Study Skills because it is a little bit more similar to English classes in Secondary.

One of the many reasons I am not ready for this exam is because of my assignments and homework's given by my hardworking lecturers. I can't even find the time to go to work. (Not working for 2 weeks) Working makes me tired = Not doing assignments and homework's.

Assignments are given to us by most of our lecturers last 2 weeks. The easiest of all was College Study Skills (CSS) because we only had to do a vocabulary journal consisting of 3 new words each week. My sister laughed at me when she found out that i didn't know what toddler was. Now I know.

Besides that, in the Creative Communication and Portfolio Development class (CCPD), we were divided into groups of 6 to complete our homework. Although it was group work, it was not easy. This was because it was hard to get all of my group members to participate.

Next, was Information Technology (IT) assignment where we were required to use Microsoft word to prepare our resume. I was never good in using the computer. Only started using the computer in form 2. No joke. I've learnt so much in this class while others take it easy as most of my friends grew up using the computer. Finally, i completed my resume! Yay me!

This blog too was a little problem; I have problems in uploading picture in the blog. Entry 4 was a hassle for me because i had to redo the entry. It was because i accidentally deleted everything while uploading my pictures. After typing two third of my essay, everything was gone. I did not know that ctrl-z was to undo. My friends have taught and helped me so much in my blog.

Just something random to say, I now have Google Chrome!! (just knew that it exists)

The hardest assignment of all was the Mass Communication assignment given by Ms. Karmini. Almost everyone struggled. Many had to sleep late too. My friend, Candice completed her assignment at around 6am in the morning (she texted me) for help. She did not know how to send her assignment into the safe assign file to get her plagiarism report. I did not know what Harvard referencing was too.

Out of these 4 assignments, only 2 were handed up. After completing two of the assignments the burden was less. Suddenly, we were given our second assignment for CCPD. We had to come up with a 15 minutes sitcom. *scratches head*

We are all so busy with assignments that no one plans to study just yet. Being discipline and consistent in our work and assignments is not easy. I totally admit that i have not been consistent in my blogging. ^^

SORRY FOR ONLY FILLING THIS BLOG WITH WORDS...

M.U.S.I.C.

Music is an art of sound. It can be created and performed varying to our cultures. To many people who are music lovers, music is an important part of their lives. It is also an important role for one's emotional feelings. A person with emotional stress could be calmed just by listening to music. That happens to me. I often listen to music when I'm feeling down.

Who composes music? The composer of course!
Just a joke : Do you know why Beethoven can't play the piano with this finger?

*drum roll for the answer*

Well, this is because that is MY finger. ^^

There is many types of music genre; for instance rock, pop, ballad, jazz, dance, country, rap, R&B, blues, worships, acoustics and many more. I do not really enjoy black metal songs because it is too noisy to be relaxed.

I enjoy listening to a few songs. Try downloading them to listen.
1 .Lips of an angel by Hinder (rock)
2. Let Go by Boys like Girls (acoustic)
3. Two is better than one by Boys Like Girls(pop/rock)
4. Today was a fairytale by Taylor Swift (acoustic)
5. Everytime we touch (slow version) by Cascada (dance)
6. Naturally by Selena Gomez (dance)
7. Someone's watching over me by Hillary Duff (pop)
8. Baby by Justin Bieber(pop)
9. From the inside out by Hillsong (religious)
10. Holy is the lord by Chris Tomlin (religious)
11. This is me by Demi Lovato (rock)
12. More Than Words by Extreme (acoustic)
13. Just like a pill by Pink (pop)
14. Mama Do by Pixie Lott (Blues)

Most songs are classified as pop music.

Watch this video. It is my very own friend trying to sing the song 'Listen' by Beyonce. He sang this in the year 2008.

This is definitely not singing! It is called screaming. (sorry Aaron - your singing is still awesome!)
He's a guy who has sang all his life and i mean ALL HIS LIFE. He is gifted with a good voice and in playing instruments such as the guitar, piano, violin, and drums but unfortunately not the saxophone. Just for your information, he has never attended any classes before, so for him to be able to play with these instruments, IT'S A TALENT alright!

At every free time that he has, he would sing. What would you do right after your Finals in college? Well, this boy had no doubt but to go to Neway which is a karaoke box to sing. A few close friends were gathered just to spend time singing together.

This next video is him trying to sing a Chinese song sang by Gary. Instead of singing original key, he sang it with a high C key. This is how it sounds like

He couldn't continue singing because it was too high but after a few tries, he got it!

Since he enjoyed singing so much, after his form 5, he started working with Digi. They travelled to many places such as Penang, Johor, Melaka, Ipoh, Bukit Bintang(KL).

This picture was taken with his DIGI friend! ( I support Maxis!)

Last but not least, this is his cover on the song 'Listen' again - the improved version where he can reach the notes. It is taken by his friends without him knowing that I would put it here in this blog. (Credits to his friends especially Adrian!) Enjoy..........

It sounds a little funny.. ^^

Sorry about the ending. Technical problem thanks to Aaron's phone.

S.P.O.R.T.S.

One of the many facilities found in Taylor's University College is sports. This is so that the students are able to enjoy a well-rounded and balanced student life. There are around 15 sports club to be found namely futsal club, tennis club, badminton club, bowling club, athletic club, basketball club, dodge ball club, rugby club, table tennis club, swimming club, squash club, Frisbee club, volleyball club, yoga club, martial arts club and others.
I plan to blog just about the few sports which i am/used to be involved in.

The first one is Tennis. I use to play this sport when i was very young but stopped at the age of 9 years-old. Now, after relearning tennis, i found it hard again. Do you know how to play?

To start a game, obviously the person needs his or her tennis racket. Well, good tennis rackets are not exactly cheap as i have done some researches. A good tennis racket can cost RM200 and above.

To start the game, the players will start at opposite sides of the net. One player is suppose to serve while the other player on the other side will be the receiver. In a legal service, the ball should travel over the net without touching the net of course, and into the diagonally opposite service box. If the ball hits the net but lands in the service box, the server gets to serve one more time. If the first service is faulty in anyway, wide long or not over the net, the serving player has a second chance too. The first player who fails to hit the ball back to his or her opponent looses the point.

Look at this video.. 45 shot rally ... can you play like that?

Not bad eh? Its not easy at all when you start playing.. When i learnt how to play tennis, i couldn't control where the ball was going..(ends up going out of the court-no joke)

Next, its basketball!!! I personally love playing basketball. Well, I'm not the best in it but its a game which need real good team work. I have always wanted to play this sport for a long time but unfortunately in primary, there were only football and athlete club. No basketball club. Thank god, there was basketball club in secondary. I was nominated as the president of the club but i was not satisfied because there were only boys team. No girls. I have a few friends who decided to start a basketball girl team in school and we did in the year 2008, with our teachers' assistance of course.

we were training indoors because of the rain.

yeap, That's me!!! haha

Guess what number am I? Our jerseys were so very big for us.. because they gave us guys size..

After training hard for our competition, we finally got to represent our school in this sports. Unfortunately, we were really unlucky. My school had to play against last year's champions which was Catholic High School. The score was crazy.. It was 2-89. We definitely got the 2. But at least it wasn't 0 points. The score was 12-16 when we played with the other new school(Sultan Abdul Samad). We also played with SMK Damansara Utama school. The score was 2-31. I know we were really bad compared to them but at least we got the experience being in a real game. Not only that, we only have 7 girls in my team whereas the other teams have more than 10 players. This means that they have many substitute players. We ONLY had ONE!! Although we lost, we still sung happily while walking back to school knowing that we did our best.^^
Basketball can be played not in competitions only.

If these guys were to join the game, the game would be over in seconds.

Besides basketball, running is also something that I've liked doing since young. There is just a little difference. That is I got to run for my school since primary started. My competitors are usually Indians. They still scare me up till today. Knowing that i like sports, my parents have always encouraged me. I have gone to many runs in the past few years. Mostly long distance. I only participate in short distance runs during schools sports day. Here are the few pictures.

This is how a starting of a run would look like during marathons. People from different states and country would come all the way just to run.

Always remember to warm up before runs

The first time during this 10km run (PJ half marathon), i got 29th place. Only the top 30 would get medals. Lucky me!! The medal was heavy.

I was totally celebrating after getting the medal

Mizuno run.. I took a really long time to complete this run.. Old people can really run. They were running faster than me

This is the KLIM run. Its one of the earliest runs i went for

(AM Bank Run)This was only a 7 km run.

Adidas run.. This was my first long distance run that i participated.

We were in the running preparation place. Everyone was so excited about it.

School Sports Day's relay run. Did not go so well.Purple still ROCKS!

Year 2009's 'merentas desa' day. I got second place. If i could run a little more faster i could have got first.

One more sport! Cheer-leading! I have only joined cheer for a year in school because i didn't have time due to the amount of tuitions i have.
I was the base!!

Oh yea! WE ARE NUMBER 1!

Well, thats all for now. Adios!

Found Out A Little Much More About Lakeside! ^^

OH MY !!! i found many of these on the floor. Near the stairs, the rocks, the dustbins, the trees and even in the food court! Thank god there are non in my classes so far. Hopefully there non at all.

Our Campus should be a very clean place. This is because it is filled with so many of these (below). It can be found everywhere you go.

Aim your rubbish in to that big hole.

Personal hygiene too is being practice in Lakeside.

This is the machine who 'swallowed' my money WITHOUT giving me my Nips! (Don't buy Nips from this machine) Bad bad machine...

Yeap! That was suppose to be my Nips there.

The Taylors mineral only cost RM1. Not too expensive. (Does not taste weird). I buy one everyday.

I have finally visited the library. It would usually be the last place i visit but it wasn't this time. There are so many levels in this library. The librarian taught me how to borrow the books manually in the library so that it would be much easier for me the next time.

The entrance.
The main reception.

Second level (study area)

Computers for students to use.

Books. This is also where i got my books that i just borrowed.

Not only there are many variety of food, Lakeside campus is also an environmental friendly place. There are so many greens here.

My favourite view!

The workers are working in the hot sun to build the blocks.

This building is still being completed. Can you see the workers?
This is a very nice view that i took from the top floor.

Look at the long and tall trees around the stairs.

As i said, there are even grasses in between stairs!

The stones are also part of nature.

Warning!! No standing beyond the chain.

Doesn't this look like the seaside?

These are the other types of flora which can be found in Lakeside.

The lake is surrounded by buildings(our classes).

Look at that!! Men's creation.

More trees to be found.
